Who books a private chef in Dallas?
All kinds of hosts. Highland Park and Preston Hollow families host dinner parties, Uptown professionals book weekly meal prep, and companies put on corporate and client dinners in private residences. The most popular occasions are Highland Park and Preston Hollow dinner parties, Cowboys game-day and Mavericks-night gatherings, at-home charity dinners and fundraisers, anniversary and milestone dinners, corporate and client dinners, and holiday hosting from Thanksgiving through New Year.
What does the price include?
Menu planning, all grocery shopping, cooking in your kitchen, plating and serving each course, and full cleanup so your kitchen is left the way the chef found it. You only provide the space, plates, and glassware. There are no hidden fees, and gratuity is at your discretion.
Can a chef cook a proper prime steak dinner at home?
Yes, and in a steakhouse city like Dallas it is one of our most-requested menus. Our chefs source prime and dry-aged cuts, cook each steak to temperature to order, and plate the classic sides, so you get the steakhouse night without the reservation or the wine markup. Tell us your cuts and your headcount and we will match you with the right chef.
Which Dallas neighborhoods do your chefs serve?
Our chefs cover greater Dallas and the Metroplex, including Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Uptown, Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, Knox-Henderson, Lakewood, Turtle Creek, Oak Lawn, Devonshire, and Lake Highlands. Tell us your neighborhood and we will surface the chefs closest to you.
How far in advance should I book?
For a standard dinner, three to five days gives your chef time to plan and shop. For the winter holidays, gala season, and big game weekends, book one to two weeks out because the best Dallas chefs fill up fast. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.
Can the chef cook Tex-Mex, Southern, or plant-based menus?
Yes. Along with prime steak and refined American, our Dallas chefs cook Tex-Mex spreads, Southern comfort classics, and seafood, and many also do fully plant-based and gluten-free menus. You can filter chefs by cuisine when you
browse profiles.
Do you offer weekly meal prep, not just events?
Yes. A
meal-prep chef comes to your home on a set day each week, cooks several days of meals, and leaves them portioned and labeled in your fridge. It is popular with busy Uptown and Preston Hollow households and usually runs $200 to $350 per week.
